Bar-restaurant built into Roman remains under Krk's main square (Vela placa 8). The owner dug out the basement and found Roman walls. Its candle-lit courtyard, The Secret Garden, has live music most summer evenings.
Our tips
- The garden has its own signed door from outside the town wall; the Roman passage is down the stairs by the toilets.
- Arrive around 20:00 before the live music fills the garden.
- Ask staff for the short tour of the ruins; the owner also has a gallery upstairs.
- By day the garden is a quiet spot for a coffee or pizza away from the crowds.
