Hans and Angelika discovered Krk years before any of this existed. They kept coming back — for the water, the silence, the way the light falls on the old town of Vrbnik in the evening. Eventually they stopped asking themselves why they loved it and started asking themselves a different question: what if they had their own place here?
They spent a long time looking for the right locations. Not a standard building plot — something extraordinary. The rock above the sea in Stara Baška. The ancient olive grove in Vrbnik. When they found them, they worked with talented architects — but every decision was their own. Every room, every proportion, every material considered and reconsidered until it felt exactly right. Hans and Angelika were on the construction sites throughout. And Hans, back in his workshop in Carinthia, built every piece of furniture by hand — the dining tables, the beds, the shelving, all of it. Nothing was bought from a catalogue.
The plan was originally a family house. A place to escape to. But after building something this beautiful in a place this extraordinary, keeping it entirely to themselves felt wrong. So they opened the doors.
When Benjamin and Anna got married, there was only one place they considered. Villa Marim — the rock the family built together, above the Adriatic, with the sound of the sea below. The tables Hans made. The terrace Angelika prepared. The wine from the Vrbnik cellar ten minutes away.
It was not a venue hire. It was their home. That distinction matters — because every guest who comes here is staying in a place that carries that same weight. It has been a family celebration venue, a proposal setting, a milestone birthday destination. But it started as a wedding. That tells you what kind of place this is.
