Konoba Galija

Half konoba, half pizzeria, running since 1991 inside the old walls near the Franciscan monastery and busy all year with locals and returning guests. Falstaff gives it 82 points (2026). The wood-fired pizza, the šurlice with scampi and the Galija bruschetta are the dishes to order.

Our tips

• Book, even in shoulder season; it fills fast.
• Galija now also runs 'Galija Al Mare' on the harbour front (Obala hrvatske mornarice 3) with online booking; the original is the one to go for.
• Casual, reliable option for a group dinner in the old town.
• Order the house pizza 'Galija' or the tagliatelle with black truffle.
• Šurlice come two ways: with scampi (EUR 22) or with beef goulash (EUR 17), the island classic (2026).
• Whole wild fish is priced by weight; for a fixed price, take the mixed fish platter (EUR 48) or the tuna steak (EUR 20) (2026).
• Finish with the pistachio tiramisu.

Good to know

• Seating is indoors, in several air-conditioned rooms of an old stone house.

Getting there

Frankopanska 38, near the Franciscan monastery, about 100 m inside the walls from the main road. Park outside the walls: Zone 1 costs EUR 1.50 an hour (mid-April to mid-October), Zone 2 EUR 1 an hour (June to September) (2026).
