Seat of the Frankopan counts on Kamplin Square next to the cathedral. The square 'courtroom' tower carries a 1191 inscription and the round Venetian tower holds a short exhibition on the town's history from the Liburnians onward; a wall walk links three towers with harbour views.

Our tips

  • On the ground floor of the square tower, look for the 4th-century stone that is the oldest monument naming the town of Krk.
  • Family ticket (2 adults + 2 or more children) is EUR 15 (2026), cheaper than four singles.
  • In 2026 the Lovrečeva fair (8–10 August) included a free English storytelling walk, 'Od krša do zlata', with castle entry, booked through the town tourist board.

Good to know

  • Closed on Sundays.
  • Short visit (45–60 min); walls exposed to sun at midday.
  • Closed in winter (October to March in 2025–26).
