Tested by us We have been here ourselves.
A very small pebble cove on the outer side of Vrbnik harbour, walled in by steep cliffs and entered through a narrow gap in the rocks right at the pier; from land you only see it once you are through. It gets morning sun and deep shade from early afternoon, so it stays cool even on an August afternoon.
Our tips
- Use it twice a day: early morning for the sun (it faces east), and mid-afternoon for the shade.
- The entrance is the unmarked gap between the rocks at the harbour pier, not a signposted path.
- Bring water shoes, a towel and water: there is nothing on the beach itself, only a café-restaurant nearby in the harbour.
- Snorkel along the foot of the cliff.
Good to know
- Pebble entry: wear water shoes.
- The rock passage is narrow: awkward with toddlers or big bags.
- Space for only a handful of groups: arrive early in July and August.
