Vrbnik's flagship since 1974, with a terrace on the cliff over the Vinodol channel. It began as a small tavern where Nada cooked to go with her husband Josip's homemade wine; the Juranić family still runs it and makes its own wines, Žlahtina among them, only from local grapes. Gault&Millau 2026 rates it 12/20 (chef Klementina Stolfa Juranić) and Falstaff 2026 gives it 85 points.

Our tips

• Order the seafood šurlice (mussels, clams, scampi, scallops) or the crispy-skin sea bream with chard, the two signature dishes.
• Book ahead and ask for a table on the open terrace; the enclosed balcony gets hot in July and August.
• If the terrace is full, the wine-bar side is the relaxed way to get the view: prosciutto, sheep cheese and a glass of their Žlahtina.
• Start with a glass of the family's own sparkling brut as an aperitif.
• For meat, order the gnocchi with Krk lamb ragù and a glass of their Žlahtina.
• Beyond the sea bream, try the monkfish or the mussels in wine sauce.

Good to know

• Busiest at lunch, when the day-trip coaches are in.
• Not suited to wheelchairs: it sits at the top of the old town's steep, narrow lanes.

Getting there

In the upper old town at Glavača 22. Park at Trg sv. Ivana by the old-town entrance (EUR 3 an hour, May to October, 2026) and walk about 300 m up through the lanes; cars cannot reach the door.
