An open-air alphabet of 34 carved stone letters in the Glagolitic script, placed from 2006 onwards and spread across the Baška valley. It starts with the letter A, about 6 m tall, at Treskavac pass, and runs through Draga Bašćanska, Batomalj and Jurandvor (where the Baška Tablet was found), along the beach and harbour, to Cape Kričin by Bunculuka. It isn't one continuous trail: you hop between the letters on foot, by bike or by car.
Our tips
Kids' game: beside every sculpture is a small tablet for taking a rubbing of the letter. The tourist office has handed out a booklet to collect them, with a small gift for a full set; ask there whether it still runs.
Four large letters are by the sculptor Ljubo de Karina. The letter L between Draga and Jurandvor is three stacked stones, a nod to drystone walling.
Combine with St Lucy's church in Jurandvor (Baška Tablet).
The easy 11 km bike route KRK BIKE 451 links most of the letters.
Good to know
Some letters sit along the busy main road, so take care with kids at roadside stops.
