7 Seas by Matija Bogdan

A seafront restaurant on Veya beach in Njivice by chef Matija Bogdan, who was sous-chef at The Ledbury in London for four and a half years. In the Michelin Guide and rated 15/20 by Gault&Millau (2026). Lunch is simpler; dinner is colourful, creative cooking with regional produce from land and sea, plenty of vegetables and very good cocktails.

Our tips

• Choose dinner with the wine pairing.
• Look out for the 'Soparnik' tacos (autumn 2026 menu): chard-and-cheese soparnik with slow-cooked lamb belly.
• Spend the day on Veya beach in front of the restaurant, then stay for dinner.
• At lunch, a plate of Krk šurlice with tomato cream and anchovies (EUR 16 in 2026) is a lighter way to taste the kitchen.
• When you book online, check that you have picked Njivice: the same website takes bookings for a second 7 Seas on Korčula.
• In summer, look out for the Wine & Gourmet Nights: one-off guest menus paired with Croatian wines on a few Fridays between June and September.
• It opens at 09:00, so it also works for breakfast by the sea before a morning on the beach.
