Njivice is a family resort of campsites and a harbour promenade, and on its own it isn't a reason to cross the island. What is worth the drive is dinner at 7 Seas by Matija Bogdan (Michelin-selected in 2026, creative, on the beach). The harbour faces west, so the evening walk and dinner come with the sunset. Pair it with the north end of the Paradise Path or, in spring and autumn, the quiet Lake Jezero loop. It suits foodie couples and families who want an easy town beach.
When to come: 7 Seas and beach bars in season. Lake Jezero is best in the spring and autumn migration. Campsite resort feel in July–August.
Chef Matija Bogdan's seafront restaurant on Veya beach, in the Michelin Guide in 2026. Lunch is deliberately simple; dinner is colourful and vegetable-forward, using regional land and sea produce, with cocktails too.
Tip: Take the wine pairing at dinner. With children, the shallow Jadran beach next door has fine shingle in the shallows.
The Njivice end of the pine-shaded shore path to Malinska, about 5 km long. It passes Rosulje, a small gravel cove with tree shade, and the Kijac district with its official dog beach and a naturist beach, then dozens of rock coves before Bar Paradajz at the Malinska end.
Tip: For a sunset, time it so you finish back on the Njivice harbour promenade: it faces west.
An easy 11.8 km loop with 207 m of climbing from the Njivice campsite into Turkey-oak and downy-oak woods and pasture around Jezero, the largest freshwater habitat on Krk. It is a valuable reserve for wetland and migrating birds, with several orchid species near the shore.
Tip: The Equestrian Club Njivice and the therapeutic riding centre 'Moj prijatelj' are on the route, with trail rides and children's lessons; phone ahead to book.
Njivice's Ribarska obala runs from the parish church to the Veya Hotel (the former Hotel Jadran), with the harbour facing west. The 1905 church belongs to the youngest parish on Krk and displays an 11th–12th-century stone slab carved with Croatian interlace.
Tip: Combine with dinner at 7 Seas: walk the promenade first, then eat.
Jadran beach by Hotel Jadran has fine shingle in the shallows and suits children, older guests and non-swimmers. The town beach Pod Crikvun (Miramare), below the church, has shingle, concrete and rock sections, pine shade and, in summer, an aquapark and trampolines in the sea.
Tip: Then lunch or dinner at 7 Seas next door to Jadran.
The Malinska and Njivice coast faces west, so the sun sets over the sea, the water is easy to get into and there are plenty of services. Looking north you see the Omišalj oil terminal on Krk and the refinery across the water on the mainland.
Tip: For a sunset swim, pick the west coast; for open-sea views, the south (Stara Baška, Baška).
A level, shaded asphalt path of about 2 km runs along the sea with woods on one side, benches and a playground in the shade, out to the Kijac point at the end of Njivice.
Tip: An easy walk for families.
Paid lots and lane parking behind Ribarska obala; a free 40-space lot near the church.
