We eat at these restaurants ourselves. This isn't a sponsored list or a compilation from a travel site — these are the five places we send every guest who asks where to have dinner on Krk Island. I've noted the walking distance from each villa, whether you need a reservation, and which months they're open.
1. Restaurant Nada — Vrbnik
Restaurant Nada
Nada is the best restaurant in Vrbnik, and one of the best on the island. The terrace sits at the very edge of Vrbnik's cliff — 48 metres above the sea — with uninterrupted views of the Adriatic. The menu focuses on what arrived fresh that morning: škampi, locally caught fish, and pasta made with Žlahtina wine from cellars two streets away.
Žlahtina is a white grape grown only in this valley — you won't find it outside the Vrbnik area. Order a glass here and you're drinking something made from vines that have been cultivated on this exact hillside since the 11th century.
2. Olive Garden Ulika Maslinik — Punat
Olive Garden Ulika Maslinik
Set inside a working olive grove on the road to Punat, Ulika is worth the 20-minute drive from Vrbnik. Everything on the plate came from the estate or from neighbouring farms. The grilled lamb with their own olive oil is one of the best dishes on the island. A completely different mood from Nada — quieter, more rustic, surrounded by century-old trees.
3. Volsonis — Krk Town
Volsonis
Volsonis sits within the Roman walls of Krk Town. It opens onto a hidden garden at the back that most tourists never find — tables under stone arches, soft lighting, live music on summer evenings. The cocktail list is genuinely creative for a small island bar. Good for an evening if you've spent the day exploring Krk Town's medieval streets and cathedral.
4. Punta di Galetto — Krk Town
Punta di Galetto
A relaxed beachside restaurant on the waterfront at Krk Town. The vibe is casual — come in after a swim, order grilled fish and a cold drink. Live music on summer evenings from around 20:00. Good for a long, relaxed lunch with children — the waterfront setting means kids can wander while adults linger over wine.
5. Restaurant Mariana — Stara Baška
Restaurant Mariana
If you're staying at Villa Marim, this is your restaurant. It is 100 metres away. Mariana focuses on fresh, high-quality Mediterranean food — daily specials depend on what arrived from the fisherman that morning. In high season they deliver directly to the villa, which means dinner on the rock terrace above the sea with professional cooking and no effort whatsoever.
One more thing: private chef at the villa
All five of these restaurants are outstanding. But if you want to eat by your own pool with a private chef, we arrange that too — in all three villas. The menu is built around what's available locally that week: Krk lamb, šurlice pasta, fresh Adriatic seafood, Peka slow-cooking. Ask us when you book and we'll coordinate everything.
